ACSC Incident Response Challenge

Details

Start: Friday 10.00am
End: Saturday 12.00pm
Duration: 26 hours
Location: Competition Hall

The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) are hosting another incident response challenge at BSides Canberra in March 2019!

The Wind In-case of No Daylight Corporation (WIND Corp) need your help! A critical application supporting their wind turbines has ceased to function, causing the turbines to lock and stop producing electricity. WIND Corp are already suffering reputational damage as customers lose power. Can you investigate the cause of the issue and get the turbines running again?

Participants (either individuals or teams of 2) will download the provided artefacts collected from this simulated incident, and have 26 hours to investigate what has occurred and restore functionality to the wind turbines. Participants will need to uncover key findings that will be used to score points as they progress through the challenge. All flags are achievable using open-source tools, so bring your favourite forensic tools to complete the challenge. Tools will also be available for download on the day.

Be the first to collect all the flags, and be crowned the best Incident Response at the conference. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday afternoon along with the all-important bragging rights!
